Principle allows adding two banners.

Sidebar subscribe banner

To add subscribe banner in sidebar:

Go to Settings > Design & branding from the admin menu.
Click Site-wide in the Design settings sidebar on the right.
In setting "Sidebar subscribe banner image" upload a picture for banner.
Click Homepage in the Design settings sidebar on the right.
Add a title for the banner in the field "Sidebar subscribe banner title".
Add a description for the banner in the field "Sidebar subscribe banner text".

Sidebar advertising banner

To add advertising banner in sidebar:

Go to Settings > Design & branding from the admin menu.
Click Site-wide in the Design settings sidebar on the right.
In setting "Sidebar adv banner image" upload a picture for banner.
Click Homepage in the Design settings sidebar on the right.
Add a title for the banner in the field "Sidebar adv banner text".
Add a link for the banner in the field "Sidebar adv banner link", if you need.
